This initiative provides commercial businesses/commercial property owners with physical locations in the Essex Sustainable Community Area boundaries with the opportunity to apply for and receive exterior security camera systems. This program is funded by a Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Community Safety Works Grant awarded to Essex Community Development Corporation.

Funding Source
This project supported security camera installations at participating businesses and properties in 2024. The cameras were installed through a 2023 State of Maryland DHCD Community Safety Works Grant in the amount of $100,000, awarded to the Chesapeake Gateway Chamber of Commerce.
